French Country Wedding inspiration in blue and white at Deer Flat Ranch

Trends come and go, but some styles are timeless.

I love blue and white patterns, both Chinoiserie and toile designs. And I wanted to make a blue and white cake for a while, but didn’t have the opportunity. A couple of months ago, I shared on my Instagram a blue and white inspiration pictures, asking who wants to do a styled photoshoot, not even crossing my mind that I could put it together. Jacque with Jacque Sudbrock Photography said ” Let’s do it!”, and there I was, planning a photoshoot around the cake I had in mind.

Here is how it went:

The location was Deer flat Ranch, in south Nampa, Idaho, a modern construction with a view to the lake Lowel. The weather stopped us to shoot outside, so everything was arranged indoors.

The tablescape started with a farmtable for a French cottage vibe, and Queen Louis chairs by Blush Creek Rentals. The vintage blue and white plates from my private collection were combined with modern white chargers and tableware, and candlestick holders in both wood and gold from The Little Gem Details. Check out this dusty blue chair by Blush Creek, isn’t it gorgeous?

The flower arrangements gave the blue and white vases a modern touch, with tall blue delphiniums and white roses by Gerald’s Floral. The bouquet was kept in traditional and romantic style, with all white flowers.

Another mix of vintage and new: a versatile bistro table with marble top by Blush Creek was perfect to show off the vintage champagne bucket and champagne flutes.

The cake

The middle tier had a stenciled blue toile pattern on the middle tier, accentuated by a hexagonal bottom tier with gold details. The flowers are handmade in sugar: peonies, butterfly ranunculus, and eucalyptus. The dessert was completed by Pistachio Macarons and Mini fruit tarts.

The vintage desk with carved details from Blush Creek was perfect to transform the cake area in feminine and romantic display.

The soft blue and white florals were included in the stationery, along with navy blue accents from Paperie and Pen.

The bride and groom attire

A stunning embroidered Maggie Sottero gown from Bridal by Marie was paired with delicate pearls, and a beautiful hairdo and make up by Idaho Stylists.

The groom’s blue tuxedo from Tuxedo Warehouse was completed by a handmade floral blue and white pattern tie by 2020Ties.

The couple: Paula and Leighton, are a real couple that are getting married in a month. The first look at the photoshoot was their first look in real life too.

This beautiful concept was captured by Jacque Sudbrock, in her clean and natural style, complemented by the warm sunset light, and the results are just stunning!
