Our Story

Dulcerella started in 2012 in Chicago when the blogger and food lover Mihaela LeCedre started decorating cakes for friends. Mihaela is born and raised in Romania and moved to United States in her 20’s. With a Bachelor degree in Economics and Computers, Mihaela started baking, cooking and blogging after moving to United States and finding a new passion for good food. Her European background for the best tasting cakes and desserts along with the dedication of always taking on challenges and improving herself, grew Dulcerella organically in 6 years to making over 400 cakes.

In the beginning of 2018, changes in personal life brought Dulcerella to Idaho, being registered as an LLC with the State of Idaho in October 2018. Now Dulcerella is mainly runned by Mihaela LeCedre, with help from her husband Hiram.

Why “Dulcerella”? When choosing the business name, Mihaela wanted to include something of her Romanian part, and “dulce” means “sweet” in Romanian.

In her personal life, Mihaela is a Christian, a wife to Hiram and mom of Hannah, she loves cooking, gardening and interior decorating.

As a blogger, one of Mihaela’s cookies recipes was published on Cooking Channel TV website in 2010 and was interviewed by a national radio station in Romania in 2015.
