From cupcake towers to doughnuts walls, we’ve seen it all. But, there is one thing that is here to stay: the wedding cake. Making a great tradition as the first thing you will do as a married couple, cutting the cake, it is also the one thing that guests are looking forward to enjoy, too.
We gathered here some of the wedding cake trends we recognize for 2025 in the Rocky Mountains.
Cake and Dessert table

Undoubtedly, the biggest raising trend we saw in 2024 and it will continue in 2025 are the dessert tables. With cakes that range from small one tier cake for the bride and groom to larger 3 tier cake for anyone who would like a slice, many brides opt to have a variety of desserts for the guests.

Color

While we love a neutral color palette, we noticed that more brides are choosing brighter colors for their color palette. From lavish fuchsia and cheerful coral charm peonies to richer fall tones, this trend makes wedding cakes so much fun.

The color doesn’t stop at brighter florals. Classic enough to stand the test of time, dusty blue appears in many wedding cakes in 2025. We love the “something blue” trend and we hope it will be here to stay.
Vintage

The frills of delicious buttercream would make even Marie Antoinette jealous. No wonder why many brides love this style for their wedding day. We sure love it too! The addition of vintage bride and groom cake toppers or cherries transform these cake into an real eye candy.

Boho
The boho style with muted colors and dried floral accents has been around for a while, especially here in the Rockies. What we see is a fading away of the semi naked cakes (yay!) and adding more textures for a more refined look, keeping the muted colors and the dried accents along with beautiful fresh flowers.

Texture
There is no better way to personalize your wedding cake and make it your own other than texture. Modern, traditional or boho styles, many brides choose to add texture on their wedding cake. We love especially the textures inspired by the bride’s personal style or her wedding dress.
