While it is fun to get inspiration from the latest trends, sometimes it good to be the trendsetter yourself. And this is exactly what this cake was!
Macy and Mitch had their wedding at the Mint Barrel Barn, a well sought barn style wedding venue in Nampa, Idaho.
When I met with the couple for the cake tasting, Macy wanted an all white cake with sugar flowers. This beautiful four tier cake had a white smooth fondant finish, sugar hydrangeas scattered all over the cake and an stunning arrangement of white roses, peony and orchids handcrafted in sugar paste.
Their wedding planner, Erin, took the cake display to another level. She used a bar for the cake itself, a greenery arch and neon sign, and a beautiful flower display in front of the bar. This was the most innovative and beautiful display we’ve been part of so far!
For the cake flavor, Macy and Mitch chose the red velvet cake, which, quoting Erin, the wedding planner, “they (the guests) had an after party, just to eat cake”.
