The 2021 wedding season was a very busy one, and by October, I was ready for a break. But, when Hannah with The Little Gem details asked me to join the vendor team for this photoshoot, I did not think twice! It was the perfect occasion to make the black cake I had on my mind for months.
The vintage brick wall from Capital City Events in Boise provided the perfect background for this photoshoot. The whole vendor team brought everything perfectly together.

For the cake design I wanted to bring a romantic touch to the bold black color. The fondant ruffles with lace inserts did just that. For the sugar flowers I chose fall colors in pale pink and burgundy for roses, cosmos and greenery. They were completed by the small touches of dried hydrangeas and dried colored fern.
The cake flavor was Dulcerella’s signature combination “”From Chicago, with love”, a double chocolate cake with white chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream and fresh raspberries.
